Set to bring Live Oak to life April 10th through the 12th, is the Annual Wanee Music Festival. Taking place at Spirit of the Suwannee Park, the festival is currently in it’s 10th year running. Featuring big name artists such as The Allman Brothers Band, Lynard Skynard, Blues Traveler, and many more, the festival is expected to draw large numbers to North Central Florida for a weekend of music and fun along the river.
The festival presents fans of the Allman Brothers a possible final chance to see the whole group perform together with their current line up, as Gregg Allman has announced that the band will stop touring after 2014. Appearing alongside them will be Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes, who will also be appearing with their own groups throughout the weekend. The Allman Brothers Band, which has been headlining the Wanee Music Festival for ten years, is set to perform the nights of both Friday, April 11th and Saturday, April 12th. Though the band has been with the Wanee Festival from it’s inception, their absence will not hinder Wanee 2015, with exciting new plans already being set into place.
Tickets for the festival are on sale now and include several options. Three day general admission festival tickets include three nights of primitive camping (Thursday through Saturday), with musical performances starting at 12:30pm on Thursday, and being followed by two full days of performances on Friday and Saturday. VIP tickets are also available, and include the added perks of a special concert viewing area, Wanee 2014 VIP t-shirts, private restrooms, catered lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, access to Wanee 2014 VIP pre-party, and more. With last year being the largest to date, it is a good idea to buy tickets in advance if you plan to go.
