The historic Marion Theater in downtown Ocala is rolling out the red carpet Sunday, March 2nd for the Oscars Live event. Bringing the glitz and glam of Hollywood to downtown, the Marion Theater plans to project the 86th Annual Academy Awards on the big screen for movie fans of all ages to enjoy. Watch the event in style with our very own local live audience, and catch up on Hollywood gossip with your friends.
Tickets for the event are $15 per person or $25 per couple, and gain you entry to the event as well as the pre-party. Pre-party festivities will be taking place between 6:30 and 7:45 pm, and include a drink ticket, light hors d’oeuvres, and entertainment provided by a live jazz band. The event itself will run from 8pm-11pm, and the Marion Theater will be offering additional snacks, beer, wine, and soda for purchase.
“There has been such an effort the past year, by many organizations, to make downtown a place people want to come and enjoy unique events,” Explained Pamela Calero, the Public Communications Coordinator for the City of Ocala, “This is one of the many events we all want to promote to show that there are fun and eclectic things to do here.”
The Marion theater is fast becoming known for it’s themed events. In May of 2013 the theater was filled to capacity as the city of Ocala turned out in droves wearing 1920’s period clothing for the premiere of the film, “The Great Gatsby”. Anticipating large numbers for the Oscars Live event, interested movie buffs are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.
